Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Juicer – A Review

When it comes to a juicer, you don’t want to go out and purchase the first one you come across. You need to take the time to research and find the best one for you.

During my research, I found the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center Juicer and would like to tell you about my findings.

It’s Not Just a Juicer

Don’t let this system fool you, because it is much more than a juicer.

It is also a food processor, a coffee grinder, can make frozen desserts and can be used to make spaghetti, linguini or breadsticks.

How does it Work?

The Omega J8006 uses an auger that squeezes the fruit or vegetable against a mesh screen – it does this in two separate stages.

During the first stage, the juice will be extracted through the first mesh screen that is on the bottom of the juicer.

From here, the pulp is pushed through an even tighter space, where the second stage takes place. Here, the pulp is squeezed against another screen.

Who Would Benefit the Most from this Juicer?

While you can use this juicer for fruits, those individuals who like using green leafy vegetables, such as wheatgrass and kale can make use of the system as well.

You shouldn’t use this for sugar cane because the mesh screen and auger won’t be able to crush the sugar cane because they aren’t hard enough.

If you plan on using fruits such as apples and vegetables such as cucumbers, you will be required to cut the fruit so that it can fit through the chute – the chute measures 1 to 1-1/2 inches in diameter.

PROS AND CONS

PROS

  • Easy to Clean.
  • Comes with a 15-year warranty.
  • It will even crush coffee beans for you.
  • Can use it every day
  • Works great with leafy greens

CONS

  • Take up some space
  • Has a feed chute that is small

If you think about it, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Yes, the juicer may take up some space, but if you want a good juicer, you have to be willing to give up some space.

As for the feed chute being small, this isn’t that big of a downfall, you just have to push the fruits and vegetables in the chute harder (and cut them smaller).

While you may have to put extra force on pushing the fruits and vegetables through the chute, the large amount of juice that is extracted will make the extra effort well worth your time.

How long can the Juice be stored?

Omega has claimed that you can store the juice for up to 72 hours, as long as it is in an air tight jar and refrigerated. It will last this long, because of the juicers design.

During the juicing process, it sucks in a low amount of air and this means the liquid doesn’t foam as much. Less foaming means less oxygen, which in return will increase the amount of time it can be stored.

However, on a personal note, I recommend drinking it right away, so you can take advantage of the freshness.

If you need to store the juice, go ahead and do so, but you will receive better results if you were to drink the juice while it is fresh.

The Verdict:

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a good juicer that will get the job done in no time at all and you do not mind the extra storage space, this is a great choice.
